Benefits of Balance & Core Workout Exercises

Balance and core workout exercises are misunderstood the world over as people think that they only help in developing six-pack abs.

However, outward appearances are a small part of the core and balance workouts. The core actually consists of many different muscles that stabilize the spine and pelvis, running through the entire length of the torso, front and back. A strong base of balance and core workouts prepare you for powerful movement in exercising. Today, Bangalore-based body transformation expert, Wanitha Ashok helps us decode the importance of balance and core workouts

Core exercises improve your balance and stability: Core workouts are most important and least addressed by most. The core is known as the power house of the system as this is where movements generate from .The strong core also protects the lower back from taking impact and allows a person to work efficiently by keeping them injury free. It also improves balance and stability as most core exercises are based on balance engaging the core. With due course of time, stability is improved too.

Core exercises can help tone your abs: It tones the mid section as it's basically an isolation workout of the muscles. It tightly packs the muscles in the abs area and visually gives a feeling of weight loss. And these exercises can be done everyday unlike other weight training exercises. You can chose from 2- 3 different exercises and you will require about 5 minutes of your time to get fit and strong in the mid section.

Strong core muscles make it easier to do most physical activities: The limbs are connected to the core and movements depend on the core, thus filling you up with energy all day long. A strong core can make you work faster, harder and longer.

Tips for being cautious during core exercises: It's good to execute the workout in front on a mirror so corrections can be made in alignment. The most important factor is to activate the abdominal muscle during execution .This can be done by coughing once and holding the contraction that happens when you cough. Square the hips and shoulders to engage the pelvic floor. The basic know hows to align and execute the exercise are very important. Therefore, taking guidance from a qualified fitness professional is important.

Core exercises don't require specialized equipment or a gym membership: We can do core and balance workouts at the comfort of our home at any time. And it does not take much time. No equipments are required to work on strengthening the core. However, performing core workouts at the gym sets the right mood. Beginners must take care to workout under the guidance of the professional trainer as some core exercises require alignment and balance.

Let's look at three at-home core strength exercises:

Super man: Lie face down on the floor with arms stretched. Raise the right arm and left leg above the ground, hold for 3 seconds and relax.

Plank: Lie face down, with forearms and toes on the floor and a straight torso. Set your eyes on the floor. Hold this position for 10 seconds. Relapse.

Supine bridge: Lie flat on the floor with eyes set on the ceiling. Align feet under your knees and hands just outside and under shoulders. Now push your hips up till you have a straight line right from your knees to shoulders. Maintain a straight line posture as far as possible.

Exercises for Lower Back Pain

We give you simple exercises to treat lower back ache

Almost everyone suffers from lower back pain at some point or the other. It could be for a variety of reasons and is especially common among adults. It is often caused by overuse and muscle strain or injury.

Here are some simple tips that will help you overcome it better...

- Avoid positions or activities that increase or cause back pain, use an ice pack when needed and take a painkiller only if you really require it. Most lower back pain gets better when you remain active.

- When your pain is getting relatively lesser, you can opt for simple strengthening exercises for your stomach, back, and legs along with some stretching exercises. Exercise not only helps you recover quicker, it also prevents re-injury to your back.

- Remember that you should get active gradually once you're recovering from pain and slowly increase your activity level. Very little activity will lead to loss of flexibility, strength, endurance levels and eventually pain again.

- Avoid sleeping on your stomach because when your stomach sags downward, it arches your back, increases the lumbar curve and gives you pain. Sleeping on your back will be as uncomfortable. Experts, therefore, suggest sleeping on the side with your legs bent at the knees. This minimises spinal stress by straightening the lumber curve. Try and place a pillow under your knee - this pulls your hips upwards, flattening the lumbar curve and reducing the tension in the area.

- Pay attention to how you sit and stand - bad posture is often the main culprit. Don't slouch when you sit and don't hunch when you stand.

Celebrity Fitness: Partner Yoga Asanas, Exercises & Benefits

Imagine improving your bond with your partner, growing together spiritually, exploring patterns and goals within your relationship, and adding fitness to that mix, all together! Sounds too good to be true? Well partner yoga seems to be the answer. Saif Ali Khan, a regular gym guy, got hooked onto yoga when he tried out partner yoga with his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, already a yoga buff. If you want to try something new with your better half, or want to introduce him or her to the joys of fitness, look no further than this.

What is Partner yoga?
Partner yoga is a method through which two people do yoga together. Partner yoga can be done with any one - husband-wife, and also with corporates where it not isn't about intimacy, but more about team building. It builds bond and trust as some poses require you to trust your partner implicitly.

Objectives of Partner yoga for couples
• To get to know each other on a non-verbal level. This improves the relationship.
• To be able to accomplish the postures you think are impossible.
• Sharing quality time and physical interaction builds a bond and lets the partner know that you are there.

Partner Yoga asanas

Trikonasana – In Trikonasana, the couple stands back to back. Once you feel the back of the partner, open your feet wide apart - at least a meter wide. Both partners should point one of their feet outwards on one side. Raise both arms at a shoulder level. If the couple likes they can hold hands and bend to one side. They can then raise the other arm up and look at the upper hand. Make sure the posture is well coordinated and both partners help balance and stretch in the posture.

Naukasana - Both partners should sit in front of each other. Then, gently bend both knees, hold each other's hand, touching each others’ feet. As you both feel comfortable slowly start stretching your legs. Make sure your partner is feeling comfortable. Sometimes one person is more flexible then the other. Coordination and understanding between the partners is very important for this posture.

Yanasana - One partner lies down on the floor then bends his knees. The other partner comes next to the feet and both hold each other's hands. The person lying down places his/her feet on the pelvic of the standing partner. The standing partner leans forward and the lying down person straightens his/her legs. This posture looks very acrobatic and difficult, but is actually not so tough.

So if these three partner yoga poses have you intrigued then may be it's time to take your relationship to the next level. Partner yoga will help both, you and your partner, strengthen your core, improve muscle tone, boost immunity, and discover new aspects of your relationship. Don't forget to attach a regimin of sorts for long term health benefits, and get started with this stylised partner interactive form of yoga today.

4221 Yoga Meditation Studio Palm Beach 4221- Christmas And Lord Jesus

This is a pretty funny caption.

Not exactly sure why I decided to post this one apart from the fact that the Christmas season has recently come and gone.

When I was a child, Christmas was all about going to church, nativity scenes, school plays depicting the life and especially the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. It seemed as though everywhere you went you were confronted with reminders of little baby Jesus and it was really nice.

Yes ... we gave each other gifts and families got together and we all tried to be on our best behaviour even around 'prickly' Aunt Mary, or stuck up Aunt Rosie. We practised, patience and tolerance and basically - good will to all men. It was a time and an opportunity to mend bridges. If we had, had a falling out with a family member, we practised 'forgiveness' or 'kindness' 'genorosity' 'charity' All of those lovely things came into focus during the Christmas season. We tried to 'be good' at least during that time, out of a sense of respect and a feeling that we wanted to please Lord Jesus and God. Like we knew intuitively that to behave in such a way was the right thing to do.

Most of us were bought up as church goers and as children we went to the occasional Sunday school class where we were taught to be respectful, helpful, generous of spirit and so on. All of these nice
qualities were instilled in us due to the teachings of Lord Jesus.

How quickly society and world views change. I miss the Christmas season as it was back then, when I was a child. I miss seeing the nativity scenes everywhere and the message of Lord Jesus and Jesus movies being broadcast on telly. Such badly made movies they were, but I would always get sucked into them. I couldn't help but admire that great personality - Lord Jesus and the great determination he had, the huge sacrifice he made because he loved us and he loved God. Thinking of those who condemned him with compassion as demonstrated clearly by his words 'Father forgive them for they know not what they do'

Thank you is so NOT enough.  BUT I struggle to find ANY words to express the depth of admiration one feels so, will leave it as that.

He was a truly remarkable individual. An absolutely super amazing person, son and lover of God. His writings, or his words as contained in the Bible today amount to just a few pages BUT his instructions were just as clear then as they are now.

Commandment 1

'Love thy God with all thy heart, thy mind, thy soul, they entire being'

Commandment 2

'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you'

I think that if we try to at least follow both of these commandments, Lord Jesus would be both happy with and proud of us. In fact all of the great saints and sages present today and all of those who have ever walked this planet would be smiling.

They come to this earth to help us. They teach by example and offer us guidance while they are here. When they depart this world they remain with us still, in their written words. They want us to experience true happiness. They, experience true happiness and because they love and care for us, (and all living beings) they give us the means by which we can come to that same condition of true happiness.

As we know, Lord Jesus practised meditation. The types of meditations taught at the Yoga Meditation Studio are prayers and are very comforting, very soothing, very satisfying to the spirit. Truly, lovely ways of meditating. You can experience it for yourself when you find your way here.

Kindness

Sages and saintly people since time immemorial have always taught gentleness and kindness. The most well known person in the West would be Lord Jesus Christ.

His first commandment was "Love thy God with all thy heart, all thy mind and all thy being"

His second commandment was "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

We find that in many parts of the world our brothers and sisters are having to deal with quiet severe conditions. We won't go into that here BUT ... I'm sure you know what I mean without having to go into details. It's there right in front of us daily courtesy of the newspapers and other forms of media.

In general, human beings are primarily good with hearts of gold, although our circumstances and environment can unfortunately cause a change to take place making it so that peoples hearts harden and they become very cruel.

Never the less it is best to follow the example of the saints and sages (past and present) who lead by example, who are God Loving Compassionate Kind Forgiving Tolerant Intelligent Honest Trustworthy Responsible Caring Loving Humble & Generous The friend to all living beings regardless of the type of body they inhabit ie tree, bird, cat, dog, human ... I think that about covers it.. Lol ..!

They exhibit great character, tirelessly working for the welfare of all souls. They are great examples and role models for humanity, advocating kindness not only to humans, but to ALL sentient beings.

We could learn a lot from their example.

The practise of yoga meditation makes it so that we become more thoughtful, more introspective, & caring. If this interests you be sure to contact us. Give us a call or shoot us a txt, find out about a yoga meditation class near you.

Yoga Meditation in Palm Beach 4221 The Gauranga Meditation

Gauranga Meditation

When you go along to a Yoga class you will find that not only do you get to stretch, breathe, build strength and stamina, twist, detox, rejuvenate, practise concentration, determination and have lots of fun. You also get to practise relaxation and meditation.

At our yoga meditation studio we practise a lot of different yoga meditations. We also practise a few different meditation techniques which all have a very harmonising effect on whom ever takes part in the practise BUT generally when combining meditation with hatha yoga we keep it simple.

The Yoga sound Gaur ra an ga which is very easily pronounced in 4 syllables as shown above is one of the primary meditations we teach. Gaur ra an ga means Golden One, so some call this the Golden One Meditation.

The meditations, prayers, or mantras taught at our Yoga meditation studio are all spiritual meditations. This means that the meditations are NOT combinations of ordinary material sounds BUT are exactly what the phrase says 'spiritual meditations' meaning that they descend from the spiritual realm, bringing with them spiritual potency.

How amazing is that. I think that is so cool. All we have to do is plug into the Gaur ra an ga meditation and experience the rejuvenating and soothing affects of Transcendental sound or spiritual sound.

It is such a simple and enjoyable way of meditating and comes with all the associated benefits such as clarity of thought, peacefulness, relaxation, rejuvenation, happiness, stress reduction, and so on and so forth.

This is a timeless process which has been gifted to humanity by the wonderful self realised souls who once walked this planet and are still with us today via their words.

Come along and learn more. Life is an amazing gift, extremely precious, find out how you and I can make the most of ours.

We look forward to meeting and practising yoga and meditation with you.

Namaste

Yoga meditation 4221 - Holistic Treatments - Natural therapies

For many people, particularly those in the western world, holistic pain relief solutions such as acupuncture, and herbal medicines are novel concepts. However, the rest of the world is probably wondering what the fuss is about, because these traditional approaches to holistic pain relief have been around for thousands of years and are still widely accepted until today.

Some studies, including a small well-conducted trial, have reported relief from pelvic pain after acupuncture or acupressure, a technique that applies small pins or pressure to specific points on the body. It is believed to work by exciting nerve receptors in those locations that interact with pain blockers in the brain.
Some women report relief with reflexology, an acupressure technique that uses manual pressure on the body's vital points located in the ears, hands, and feet. These Chinese holistic pain relief methods are based in the belief that health is determined by the level of chi (vital life energy) that is inside the body. This energy is thought to move through pathways called meridians, which connect to specific organs in the body.
People use different terms when describing systems and methods used in the scope of holistic medicine.  The most popular among the terminologies are alternative medicine, complementary medicine, and natural healing, all of which use procedures that are non-invasive.
